DEAF NEED NOT BE DUMB

FACT FILE

Are You Aware?

4 out of every 1000 babies are born DEAF.
But they are not born MUTE.
As per the Statistics, 22000 babies are born every year in the state of Goa.
On an average, 80 children are born deaf every year.
That means, 400 children in the age group of 0 to 6 years are deprived of pre-school training.
However, early detection and intervention can help these children SPEAK and lead a NORMAL       LIFE.
As there was no such centre in Goa, Shree Sharada Granth Prasarak Saunstha has started     ‘Swaranaad’ a pre primary school for the Hearing Impaired Children. This project has been        undertaken in collaboration with “Cochlea Pune for Hearing and Speech’.
The main objective of this project is to enable the hearing Impaired children to be integrated in        a normal regular school.
